Welcome to the new All You Need is Pug blog! Here you will find all of the latest news and behind the scenes looks at the All You Need is Pug team and our work. We are thrilled to have a space where we can share our experiences with you. Allow us to introduce ourselves! My name is Jessica and I am the creator of All You Need is Pug and our product line. When I am not busy working on new items for our shop, I enjoy spending time walking with my rescue dogs, writing, and taking photos. I feel lucky that I get to share all of the things that I love with you: our friends, customers, and followers!
Now meet our mascots: JD, Ringo, and Murphy.
JD (short for James Dean, because he’s my little rebel) is a pug who I rescued from the Pug Rescue of New England in June 2008. He was just 7 months old when he was surrendered to the rescue for being “too rambunctious.” Fortunately, I love a dog with a spunky attitude. When I met JD he gave me a little nip on my hand, and it was love at first bite. We’ve been best buds, collaborators, and soul mates for 7 years, and if it weren’t for JD, All You Need is Pug would never have come to be!
Ringo is a rescue pug from the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society. Ringo was already 8 years old and extremely malnourished when my mother adopted him in 2010, but we knew that he still had plenty of love and energy to give and we were honored to welcome him into our family. Ringo is now 13 years young, well fed, and still thriving, despite having recently gone blind and enduring a constant battle with chronic bronchitis. Ringo loves walking, riding in his stroller, and snuggling with whoever will lend a lap. It is so much fun being the “sister” of a sassy senior like Ringo.
Murphy is the newest member of our family. We like to think of him as an “honorary pug,” as he is a French Bulldog mix. We rescued Murphy from S.N.O.R.T. Rescue on June 13, 2015. Murphy also just celebrated his first birthday in July, and he is your typical pup full of energy and excitement. What is not so typical about Murphy is his set of gigantic ears that have garnered him comparisons to Yoda, Dobby, and Stitch, just to name a few of his big-eared lookalikes. He has become fast friends with his big brother JD, and loves to nap with his Uncle Ringo.
